31 weeks

How Far Along? 31w4d

Total Weight Gained/Loss? I'm probably close or a little over the 30 lb mark! I think I'm on track lately of gaining a pound/week, however, all the goodies at Thanksgiving didn't help!
Maternity Clothes: Yup--except for my lounge/sweats. For my maternity clothes, my pants keep falling down, I think now that my waist is gone and my butt is bigger, they have a tendency to slip down. Over Thanksgiving in Phoenix, I had a great time wearing all of A's maternity clothes (since they were more summer-y, perfect for Phoenix's 7-80 degrees weather, but not good for Chicago winters!)

Sleep: Varies. I'm sick again, so if going to the bathroom or LO kicking/hiccuping doesn't wake me up, my sore throat sure does. I'm sleeping about 5-6 hours a night now and getting up 1-2x. I try to take a nap in the afternoon, but more often than not, doesn't happen.

Best Moment of the Week: (More like the past few months) J has been treating me like a queen and loves me being pregnant. I think that now that I'm bigger, it's more noticeable and he's so excited!

Movement: Oh yeah--no more light kicking. Now, I get the occasional jabs, but more often, I feel (s)he move around since (s)he is getting bigger and less room in there, so I sure feel it! The u/s showed us that the head was down, but I have a permanent lump on my right side (which I think is it's butt) and head more toward the left of my bb or down. This is confirmed by the hiccups I feel (which are a lot!!!!). My mom says that I had hiccups a lot too in utero, I wonder if it's hereditary? (S)he hiccups several times during the day and a few different times at night. Weirdest feeling!

Food Craving: I'm not having the typical "pregnancy" cravings--I kinda wish I was to test to see if J would go out at random hours to get what I want. I crave a lot of milk and fruit though, very summary/cool foods. Nothing too heavy for me. However, I still am very suggestive. Any commercial or mention gets me thinking/wanting that food. Case in point, D asked if I was craving anything and mentioned a story of her friend who wanted a chocolate donut in the middle of the night, and all I could think about was donuts...mmmm...jelly filled donuts. Dang it--now I want one of those!

Food aversions: Nothing that I can really think of, but sometimes random smells get to me--like jerky.

Morning sickness: Nope (crossing fingers)

Labor Signs: No. Not even any braxton hicks. (good!)

Belly Button: The top is starting to poke out even more and is a bit noticeable through my tighter clothes

Stretch Marks: none (whispered with fingers crossed)

Wedding rings: still on, but getting tighter and am getting more scared to wear them.

Swelling: Nothing that I can notice. I'm sure the wintertime helps.

Exercise: I got the green light to exercise, so I walked a bit when I was in Phoenix. However, now that I have a cold again, I"m waiting until I'm better to try formal exercise. At the 3rd trim, any sort of movement gets me a bit out of breath (running around the house, going up and down stairs, unpacking the Christmas decorations).

What I miss: Not being able to lean over comfortably and put on my shoes easily.

What I'm looking forward to: My shower in 1.5 weeks. Also, I'm kinda looking forward to the birth classes this weekend (with much apprehension).

Weekly Wisdom: I'm trying to milk this pregnancy as much as I can since it's going so fast!!!

Milestones: I'm down to the single digit weeks left! Where as the time gone??

Size: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Like I said earlier, we have our birth classes this weekend (all weekend). I'm getting more and more scared of the birth and it's the only thing tainting the pregnancy now. (Plus the fact that I'm starting to freak out with how much I have to do in the next few weeks: find daycare, interview pediatricians, paint the nursery, put together the crib, clean out the closet, get the birth bag ready, prebuy stuff for the baby so we're ready when (s)he comes home, plus all the stuff at work to tie up--uff da!)

Here's some u/s pics:

I think (s)he has my nose and forehead (or fivehead--sorry baby!). J's mom thinks (s)he looks like J as a baby.

Also, here's me over Thanksgiving, one day shy of 30 w (when did I get so bloated/fat??):

28 weeks

Welcome 3rd trimester!

How Far Along? 28w4d
Total Weight Gained/Loss? Will find out tonight, but I think I'm about 28 lbs--where is it all going and how will it go away after the birth???
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah--the only problem is some of the pants keep falling down...
Sleep: Off and on, some nights a great 7 hours straight, most nights, up at 3 or 4 am and need to read a bit before drifting off again. However, LO is a great alarm clock at 6:15 and even if I want to snooze (s)he starts kicking telling me to get my butt out of bed =)
Best Moment of the Week: Having conversations with LO (no (s)he doesn't talk back, but does respond with movement!)
Movement: Yup--and some are pretty brutal both inside and out--just like mommy and daddy with long limbs (I think).
Food Craving: Fruit or chocolate at different times
Food aversions: Just get sick of food easily
Morning sickness: Nope (crossing fingers)
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button: The top is starting to poke out--eek!
Stretch Marks: none (whispered with fingers crossed)
Wedding rings: still on, but getting tighter
Exercise: Still not allowed
What I miss: Not living day-to-day calling and/or visiting doctors offices!
What I'm looking forward to: My u/s today (my mom is coming too!) and going to Phx tomorrow for a 2 week vacation!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Things happen for a reason and better to be safe than sorry (which I keep telling myself everyday I go in for tests and get new doctor referrals.
Milestones: Just hit the start of the third trimester!
Size: By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. (S)he can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, (s)he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. (S)he's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

This is going way too fast and I'm so going to miss being pregnant--I just love it!

D's party/27 week pic

Many of you have been asking to see a full pic of me preggo. Here you go!

D's going away party--good times, but sad reason!

No, I'm not hiding a pillow or ball under my shirt--that's LO. =)

Neurologists, Opthomologists, and Cardiologists oh my!

I was following up with a quick referral from my ob/gyn to check out something and to be better safe than sorry with an appointment with a neurologist. Little did I know that the same would happen with her. The neurologist is a bit worried and again, wanted to be safe instead of sorry, so now I have to see an opthomologist, cardiologist and get MRIs all within the week. Oh joy--hope everything is fine and the symptoms are just random coincidences. We'll know more soon.

More decisions and upate (27 weeks)

I've been hittin' it hard with the decisions. My p's came into town this past weekend and on Sat we went out to purchase the glider (their gift to us). I was 95% sure on the glider, but also needed to pick out fabric. Got to the store, sat in it again and knew it was it. All I had to do was pick the fabric. My mom and I took about another 5-10 mn deciding on the fabric (still too long for my dad) and got it ordered. Just in time, too! It will get here between Jan 2 and Jan 30 (6 days before the dd!). I just hope it beats the baby and that it fits in the jeep since we're picking it up from the store.

Here is the chair I ordered, but in a lighter beige fabric (and no contrasting trim). It's a glider, recliner and swivels--nice! Plus, the fabric choice was cheaper than the display, plus I used a 20% off coupon--yeah for the savings!

Also, just got word that our crib is in, so J and my dad will pick it up this week.

My mom and I will be painting the nursery this week as well. Everything is starting to fall into place. Mental note to take pics before and after of the nursery.

27 week update
How Far Along? 27 w 3d

Total Weight Gained/Loss? ~34 lbs--yikes! Where is it going???

Maternity Clothes: All the time now, except some of the pants keep falling down--not sure why.

Sleep: Hard to say since I'm getting over being sick. Still take about 1-2 naps/day--nice!

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing a lot of good friends this weekend at D's going away party and getting nice compliments of how good I look. It really made my day!

Movement: Oh yes--LO is sure active. I'm starting to feel more pressing of the head and/or behind against my skin--weird sensation!

Food Craving: Nothing really jumps out at me other than fresh fruit and juice, but I assume that this is because of the cold. I am diggin' the leftover Halloween candy, though!

Morning sickness?- No, thank goodness!

Stretch marks? None yet...

Labor Signs? None yet...hopefully not for another 2.5 months!

Belly Button- Still in, but the top part is starting to come out.

What I miss- Sushi, salami rolls, Jimmy John's sandwiches and not being able to drink while out with friends. No biggie since it's so worth it.

What I'm looking forward to- Getting the nursery ready.

Weekly Wisdom- God has a plan for us...we just have to trust in that plan. I'm stealing this from another blog, but believe it as well!

Milestones- At the end of my 2nd trimester. It's going too fast!!!! And in the double digits left--only 88 days left!

Size-Your baby is as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.) (from http://www.babycenter.com/)

Decisions

Well, I'm sick of pussyfooting around and have finally started to make some decisions--go me!

I just ordered my crib. We just wanted a nice, plain white sturdy crib. We didn't need anything fancy or convertible, since we figure that it will stay a crib for a long while and we're pretty good on headboards and beds and all in our house right now. This basic style crib is actually harder to find than you may think. However, I finally found one and should get it within the next few weeks:
It meets all of our requirements. Pretty sturdy, basic design, taller on two sides (not just the back) and has a wire mattress frame. It's also supposed to be pretty easy to put together.
Hopefully it won't be damaged or anything upon delivery and will come in time for for my dad to be here to help J put it together.

26 weeks and sick

Well, if it's not one thing it's another. Since last Tuesday, I've come down with a bad cold/cough. And, being pregnant, I'm a bit more concerned about my health than I was pre-pregnancy due to carrying another being. So, I don't drug myself up as much as I normally would which means that it's hitting me harder than normal. Esp. when I cough. I have these racking coughs that J and I are concerned must affect LO with the jarring. I'm coughing so much and so violently that my side muscles are all sore and ache. The doc says it's fine for the baby and that it's viral, so I just need rest. After 5 days, I still have a cough, but now it's moved into my sinuses and throat...fun. I've been permitted Robit. DM and Tylenol, but I'm trying to take that judiciously since about 15 mn after taking the DM, the baby goes into gymnast/hyper mode kicking and jumping and having a heyday in my uterus. Poor thing....
As for other affects, now I get faint easily and have had a few minor incidents when I cough and sneeze--the joys of pregnancy (and I love it--really!!). I'm starting to have more back pain as well and am sore when I sleep. Also, J has been sick as well, but with the flu, so it's been a real joy around our house.
It's hard to be sick and rest since I have so much that I need to do w/LO coming soon (just 3 months!!). However, I'm trying to take it in stride and just get better, esp. since in a few months I won't have the rest time that I have now.

How Far Along? 26 w 2d
Total Weight Gained/Loss? With being sick, I'm sure I've lost weight since I have no appetite.
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah....I can still wear some shirts, but prefer mat. since they're longer and need to cover the belly and the top of maternity pants.
Sleep: I'm up about every 4 hours, but am assuming it's due to my cold.
Best Moment of the Week: Feeling the hiccups for the first time last week. Haven't felt them since, but what an experience!
Movement: Oh yes--LO is sure active. Last night (s)he was making themselves known by pressing against my skin and making weird pressure and bumps against my outside--very weird sensation! Like said before, the drugs must affect the baby as well since (s)he gets real active when the drugs must hit him/her.
Food Craving: Eggs, again, probably due to my cold. Don't worry, as much as I'd love eggs over easy, I'm playing it safe with only scrambled eggs.
Morning sickness?- No, thank goodness!
Labor Signs- None yet...hopefully not for another 9 weeks!
Belly Button- Still in, but pushing it's way out.
What I miss-Being healthy
What I'm looking forward to- Getting rid of this cold and going to Phx in a few weeks. Weekly Wisdom- God has a plan for us...we just have to trust in that plan. I'm stealing this from another blog, but believe it as well!
Milestones- At the end of my 2nd trimester. It's going too fast!!!!

FYI...baby is now the size of an english cucumber (?!?)

Corn to Rutabega

4

According to babycenter.com, last week the baby went from corn-size to rutabega-size. In my mind, those aren't even remotely similar in size or shape to each other...poor baby!

"Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture."

25 weeks

How far along? 25w
Total Weight gain/loss: Total about 20 lbs since beginning of pregnancy (ugh!)
Maternity clothes? Oh yes--rarely can I get by w/non maternity clothes since I can't button any up anymore. My lounge wear is still non-maternity. Gotta love elastic pants and old 90's style L t-shirts!
Sleep: Pretty good--still like a 20-30 mn nap once a day.
Best moment this week(s): Having my mom see my belly move/jump
Movement: Oh yes--LO is VERY active!
Food cravings: I'm craving the things I can't have--Jimmy John's and salami rolls. Other than that, my cravings are either fruit/healthy or salty snacks.
Gender: Don't want to know.
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but starting to work it's way out
What I miss: Taking for granted an easy pregnancy and not worrying.
What I am looking forward to: My next u/s in a few weeks.
Milestones: Viability!!!
Also, the glucose test came back negative, so that's good too! As read in another post, the heart and organs looked great in my high level u/s a few weeks ago, so that was a big relief.

I've been having some minor complications, cramping, lightheadedness/dizziness and spotting and bleeding for the past 2 weeks. I'm told not to exercise at all (not even prenatal yoga), which is killing me, esp. with my weight gain. I can feel my muscles atrophying. I've been told to rest as much as possible, which after this week, I'm trying to take more seriously.
The dr can't find anything wrong, and LO's hb is still strong and still kicking/moving around a lot, so that's a good sign! I just hope that things even out before I leave for Phx for Thanksgiving for 2 weeks!

"rest"

So, for the past few days, I've had some minor scares each day, whether it be spotting, lightheadedness or weird cramping. Nonetheless, it's a bit worrisome. I went in for a last-minute appointment and everything checked out ok. They're doing some tests that I'll get results back in a few days, but the doc didn't seem too concerned.
[Side note: I saw a new doc for our practice and she's fantastic--so much better than my last experience there!]
She told me that I need to "rest" for the next week or so due to all my varied symptoms. All I've done this past week is 1 hour of prenatal yoga (in which we took it easy since I'm the only person in the class and the instructor has been tailoring it for me). Bummer--with all of the weight I'm gaining, I was hoping at least to do some minor walking, but oh well. It's all for the baby and it's health. If I need to rest and lay on the couch when I'm not at work, I'll do it =)

Quick update

The u/s went great. All is just perfect with the baby, and because of that, with mom and dad as well. =)

We could see all three chambers of the heart including the valves. How amazing considering the heart is the size of an almond. The spine and neck and nose are all good as well.

Below are some pictures we got of LO:

profile shot

head-on of the face. One eye is hidden (by a hand??)

Base of foot
However since then we've had a few scares. Nothing major, but enough that the dr was called afterhours and I was told to rest all weekend. I'll go in for a quick appointment this week to check on things. Then, today, I got hit with quite a few lightheadedness and almost fainting spells this morning. I've been eating off an on ever since and now feel a bit better. Doc says I should also rest tonight, but am still going to try to hit my prenatal yoga.

22 weeks

How far along? 22w 4d
Total Weight gain/loss: Total about 12 lbs since beginning of pregnancy (?)
Maternity clothes? Oh yes--rarely can I get by w/non maternity clothes since I can't button any up anymore. Some tops do still fit though, but I don't want to stretch too many out.
Sleep: Pretty good--still like a 20-30 mn nap once a day.
Best moment this week(s): Seeing all of my relatives and having them see me pregnant! Movement: Oh yes--LO is VERY active!
Food cravings: Varies--sometimes chocolate and/or cake, sometimes fruit, sometimes Panera broccoli cheddar soup and their french bread
Gender: Don't want to know.
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but starting to work it's way out
What I miss: Still miss Jimmy John's subs and salami rolls
What I am looking forward to: W/apprehension--today's level 2 u/s.
Milestones: Had my first shower last weekend with my MN relatives--so much fun and got some great items. So many were homemade, which I love and will cherish!

I can also see the baby move/kick from the outside. I'm starting to have more and more conversations with the baby and sometimes it seems like (s)he is responding back with movement and/or kicks.

21 weeks

How far along? 21w 3d
TotalWeight gain/loss: ugh--up ~6.5 lbs in the last month! So about 12ish pounds total since beginning of pregnancy.
Maternity clothes? Can't fit into any of my non-maternity bottoms (except workout pants and shorts). Tops--can wear both.
Sleep: Overall, good except when LO wants me to roll to the other side and makes sure I know it!
Best moment this week(s): Seeing J's face when he first felt LO move and seeing it!Movement: See above. I
Food cravings: Panera broccoli cheddar soup and their french bread...mmmm...I would love this now.
Gender: No idea, I keep calling (s)he she.
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, thank goodness!
What I miss: Jimmy John's subs
What I am looking forward to: Having my firs shower this weekend (w/my MN relatives). . Milestones: Like above, J's face.
Also had the u/s last week--did not go well and will mention more in the future after the 2nd level u/s happens. Overall, not a pleasant experience and the less said the better.

I'll try to post new pics soon. Been busy with moving, cleaning, helping p's, etc.

19 weeks

How far along? 19w 3d
TotalWeight gain/loss: No idea--will find out next Monday at my next dr appointment--hopefully I'm right on track! =)
Maternity clothes? Have moved into at least wearing maternity bottoms and occasional tops. Trying to get as much use out of my summer maternity clothes on loan while the weather is still nice.
Sleep: Overall, good except when LO starts poking me to get up!
Best moment this week(s): Feeling LO move. Last Tuesday, I woke up a bit early and thought I felt something like a bubble popping inside me. I then felt it two more times and realized I was finally feeling the baby move! Since then (s)he has been VERY active, esp. when I'm laying down on my back and/or haven't moved in awhile. Sometimes it can be a bit disconcerting. However, I love it and find it thrilling. I also think that I can feel (s)he move from the outside and even slightly see LO kick/move. J has been anxious to feel it himself, but LO hasn't been too cooperative when daddy's around. =)
Movement: See above. I was wondering why I hadn't felt anything and now it's like LO is making up for lost time. J thinks LO is just practicing to be a pole vaulter...
Food cravings: More chocolate cravings this week.
Gender: My dad keeps calling LO Junior, I slip into calling LO he, but am trying to even it out calling it she.
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, thank goodness!
What I miss: Again, being able to lift and/or move heavy objects. This was really hard last week since we got furniture from my folks delivered to our house (thanks m&d!). I kept wanting to move stuff around and hate asking for help. I got around some of this by using the furniture sliders--those things are amazing!!!
What I am looking forward to: Getting the next big u/s on Monday. Hopefully they'll let us see everything w/o giving the sex away.
Weekly Wisdom: Take nothing for granted. I'm still amazed that I'm finally pregnant and so excited to be going through all of this.
Milestones: Like I said above, feeling LO move and thinking I even saw it!
Also, I got to register this week. My mom and I went first thing on Sat to register at BRU and I won a prize--some bottles, brushes and nipples from a brand that hasn't been released yet (Dr. Weil?). Registering is so overwhelming!!! I can't believe how much stuff there is and trying to figure out what to get is a little daunting. Just trying to decide what swing to get, let alone do you need a small rocker or other exerersaucer as well is confusing. Good thing I have a few friends who were/are recently preggo so that I can stalk their registries for ideas!

LO is moving so much, I'm slipping into calling (s)he Squirmy since (s)he is so active! So, LO might be interchanged with Squirmy from now on.
I'll try to get a new pic taken and posted soon...been too busy with moving and redoing our dining room.

18 weeks

How far along? 18 weeks
TotalWight gain/loss: No idea.
Maternity clothes? Just starting to, mainly bottoms since wearing a belly band isn't too comfortable.
Sleep: Some good nights, some bad (up for a few hours in the middle of the night.)
Best moment this week(s): Finding out the baby is healthy and starting to show more in my clothes
Movement: Nothing yet, darn it! I thought I should be feeling LO by now!
Food cravings: Varies--mainly carbs.
Gender: Not sure, keep going back and forth.
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, thank goodness!
What I miss: Being able to lift heavy objects and/or do stuff I took for granted. I bought some shelving units at Target and feel helpless since I shouldn't be lifting them in and out of my cart and car. Food-wise mainly salami/cream cheese rolls
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move
Weekly Wisdom: uhhh....
Milestones: Telling some good friends at work. Still fun to share the good news with people! 2nd tri screening came back negative (normal!)--yipee!

Yes, everything is hunky dory with the baby with the 1st tri and 2nd tri screenings coming back normal. Hard to believe that some people take these tests for granted because of their age.

Belly pics

At long last, I've downloaded my belly pics over the last few months. All of a sudden this week (week 17ish), the baby is making itself noticed to the world. =)
Still waiting to feel it, though!

Enjoy!

16 weeks

How far along? 16.5 weeks
TotalWight gain/loss: At my appointment last week, I've only gained 1.5 lbs since my appointment 4 weeks ago--yippee!! Doc now says I'm supposed to gain 1 lb/week. Should be interesting since my appetite has severely dropped.
Maternity clothes? Rarely, mainly to hide the pregnancy at work.
Sleep: Going good. Been sleeping through the night for the past few nights (and this includes quick catnaps during the day).
Best moment this week: Finding out that my exercising is doing good since I only gained 1.5 lbs in the past month.
Movement: Nothing yet
Food cravings: Pasta
Gender: Same--I'm thinking girl, but all signs point to boy. Had a dream a bit ago that we had the baby and it was dressed like a boy, but called it a girls name!?!
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, thank goodness!
What I miss: Just a sip of booze, mainly J's margaritas and/or other fun summer drinks. Salami/cream cheese rolls (mmmm...salami/cream cheese rolls....)
What I am looking forward to: Just savoring every day/min that I'm pregnant
Weekly Wisdom: See above.
Milestones: Belly seems to keep sticking out more--or else it's just my posture making it bad. Baby can now hear us and J is making the most of it--talking to it every chance he can.
Axiously awaiting results from the 2nd tri screening/b/w.

16 week dr appointment:
Wt: +1.5 lbs since week 12
bhb: 160
no u/s this time, but will in a month! =)

food cravings

well, they are a changin....
just now, for a late breakfast, I had a mini bag of doritos. Normally, I'm not a big fan of them, but oh they were good.
Also, have been craving a lot of pasta lately and am VERY suggestive to food I see and hear, not good when you watch the food network a lot =)

15 weeks

How far along? 15 WeeksTotal
Wight gain/loss: Not sure--hopefully slight loss and/or constant
Maternity clothes? Only on the weekend--thanks A!
Sleep: Ugh--sleep about 5 hours a night, then the brain starts going for a few hours. Right when I want to drift off, I have to get up for work. I take 1-2 naps/day (gotten shorter, though than last month)
Best moment this week: Getting the doppler and hearing the hb at home, telling more people and wearing comfortable maternity clothes instead of unbuttoned regular clothes
Movement: Nothing yet, but get weird twinges during the evening (but higher than the baby should be)
Food cravings: Varies, but overall, still fruit
Gender: I'm thinking girl, but all signs point to boy
Labor Signs: Not any time soon..
Belly Button in or out? Still in, thank goodness!
What I miss: Jimmy John sandwiches and salami/cream cheese rolls
What I am looking forward to: dr appt on Friday--more b/w for 2nd tri tests
Weekly Wisdom: I'm running blank here...
Milestones: Belly does stick out more--esp at night

A big addition to the new adventure of our lives together!

I'll let the picture say the thousand words.....

As many of you now have heard, we have started to joyously spread the news that our 'coupledom' will soon become a real family! =) Baby Sterk is on the way--or who we call either Little One (LO) or squirmy.

The pic above is a bit old, from my 9w4d u/s and I've had several since. I just haven't had time to scan them in. You can see LO's head on the top and right underneath is a hand and the little feet on the bottom.

We're so happy to be into the 2nd trimester and be able to get over the fear of m/c and all. Also, the first screenings came back "normal". Me, being a scientist, wants hard numbers and ratios, but they couldn't give any, all I got is "normal". I'll take what I can get!

A little bit of a shock when I got weighed--evidently going off of nutrasweet/splenda and drinking (minimally) regular pop, juice and milk, plus my food cravings have taken their toll! It also didn't help that I needed to eat to keep the nausea at bay (ironically enough!). I gained about 8 pounds or so so far (a little high at only 12 w!). However, this is a bit debatable since I wasn't regularly weighing myself before I got preggo. No more Taco Bell =(. Which has actually turned out fine since it doesn't sound good anyway.
